FUTURE POSTCARDS
Below are a selection of Maritime views in my current 'TO DO project' pile for future colourized postcards. I've included some narrative to go with them
PROJECT ONE

Three views from a few I recently purchased showing the British Cruisers HMS Ajax and HMS Exeter on a Canal Zone transit. A cruise undertaken while they were serving as part of the RN's America and West Indies Station pre war. Still making my mind up which one's will be postcard projects. I like the Balboa view due to the presence of period vehicles, but not so great for detail on the vessels. I've made cards of both vessels in the past partly due to their historical roles during WWII
PROJECT TWO

The Pacific Steam Navigation Company (PSNC) liner Reina Del Pacifio (Queen of the Pacific). The first view, needs more work (there's a dark cast to the right hand side of the original image), and I'm warming to the view of her in Balboa where she appears to be coming in for dry docking. A common site in the early days of the Canal Zone were the vessels of this famous British line. Established long before opening of the Panama Canal, the company even had its own repair yard built on Isla Del Morro island off the coast of Panama City. Graves of British former PSNC employees of that period can be still be found in the El Morro cemetery
